A lit lamp

Uncle Ronnie,

You were a lit lamp placed on a lampstand. You have let your light so shine before men that they saw your good works and glorified your Father in heaven.. Matt 5:15-16

Thank you for shining into the lives of my family. My nieces remembered your hugs on Sunday mornings. My mom and I remembered your firm handshakes and warm smiles. My mom especially remembered how you made her feel welcome during her first church camp with the Chinese congregation. We will definitely miss you.

Working together with you in usher ministry and wheelchair ministry have been fun. Your love for people and your zeal in life have often spur me forward. Thank you for being an inspiration.

Till we meet again

Catherine

  1. I always remember Uncle Ronnie as a warrior and servant of the Lord!

My first personal encounter with him was when he came with a group of church friends to pray over my home and followed by removing the altar and idols in my home 10 years ago. You should watch him tearing down the idols...really a warrior at work. His prayers always filled with conviction!

When my grandma had a fall and was admitted to the hospital, he would come and visit her. At my grandma wake, he was there to support my family too.

Subsequently, with just a phone call to him, he willingly went to pray and baptise my bed-ridden uncle who suffers from stroke.

I will always remember those days when u stood by the door and SIM and Chinese Clan to greet us when we stepped into the service. His smile is contagious! Those handshakes were filled with sincerity making me feel like I am a VIP. That's how he used to greet us!

We used to wait and take the same church bus to church and back to AMK. I remembered that he would always waved us goodbye with a big smile before he alighted. Today, I remembered to wave Uncle Ronnie goodbye at his funeral. Till we meet again.

Uncle Ronnie never give up on people. I remembered, he always asked me, "Where is so-and-so?" He was always on a lookout for people who went MIA in church. That is how caring he was.

It has been a privilege to have known Uncle Ronnie. I thank God for you and your ministry to my family.

You have made your life on earth count for Jesus and impacted many lives. May we be encouraged to be a faithful servant unto the Lord just as you are!

Will miss you! See you at the Heaven Gate!

    Love,
    Eveleen
